Welcome
Why “Akimbo”?
Two reason. First, my penchant for being akimbo, as defined by the freedictionary
Adv.
1.akimbo - with hands on hips and elbows extending outward;
"she stood there akimbo"
Second, my penchant for doing things differently.
Adj.
1.akimbo: crooked- having or marked by bends or angles; not straight or aligned; "crooked country roads"; "crooked teeth"
I certainly don’t consider myself crooked in the criminal sense but I’ve always been comfortable going in my own direction, not in alignment. I am also akimbo in my goals for Akimbo Animal Arts. Most TTouch® Companion Animal Practitioners work primarily with dogs. Although I adore dogs and have two of my own, I have made a conscious choice to work primarily with other animals such as cats, reptiles, rabbits, ferrets and birds plus the myriad of other animals that people keep as pets. I also hope to work with rescued wildlife. In addition, some of my products, such as custom jewelry, are not the typical products offered by my peers.
Hopefully, you will find my style and focus to your liking and allow me to help your personal animal or ask me to help animals being cared for by a rescue.

These products and services are based on the caring and positive principles that I have learned through my study and practice of the Tellington TTouch Training® method of working with animals.
